R&R Face Masks

Happy Thursday! Today our Beauty guru’s are going to be focusing on my favourite topic – FACE MASKS! If you follow my Instagram, you’ll know that I’m a firm believer in self-care Mondays. For me, that means a face-mask, herbal tea, Gilmore Girl reruns, comfy pj’s, dark chocolate & an early night. Even if guests are on-board, I still try to take 10 minutes before bed to do a face mask. Too busy to spare a few minutes? There are some fantastic masks that you can leave on overnight to give you extra hydrated skin the next morning that the girls mention below.

My current favourite masks are…

Fresh: Rose Face Mask
Kiehls: Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque (pop this in the fridge if you ever catch a little too much sun on your face.)

Garnier sheet masks are a must!

The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel

Pixi Glow Tonic – exfoliating toner that will make your skin glow!

DARPHIN Intral Redness Relief Soothing Serum, it’s super hydrating, calming and lightweight so it sinks in quickly and follows with…

DARPHIN Rose Hydra-Nourishing Oil Cream moisturizer which makes my skin feel super soft!

Top Tip: I love and always recommend Clarins Hydra-quench mask and the Glamglow Thirsty mud hydrating treatment. These two are clear when they go on and perfect for long plane rides to avoid dehydrated skin.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque – because we don’t always have that extra 15 minutes to let a mask set (sleep is life), so I love that you can sleep with this one on.  By morning, it is completely absorbed and your skin is replenished! You also don’t need to use a lot of product, so this pot will last through the whole season!

Sephora Face Masks – I always buy a handful before starting a trip, they are so easy to use and although on the budget side, I do feel they give me that quick boost I am looking for after a long day!

Claudile Purifying Face Mask  after a long day with guests-on, with your make up from the morning, you will be forever grateful for this mask!! Guests are arriving and you have had a full day of provisioning, sweating and panting… you’re welcome!

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energizing Radiance Mask

Radial Vitamin C Energizing Mask

Curious of what to do when you are stuck at anchor but are craving some R&R? Mishka has a fabulous face-mask that she uses herself & was kind enough to share the recipe below!

Mask: DIY: 2TBS Honey, ½ tsp turmeric (optional), 1 tsp cinnamon, squeeze of lemon.
Toner: Olive oil on cotton pad

I personally feel that taking time for yourself for some self-care needs to be MANDATORY. We are in an industry that requires us to serve others constantly. It’s time to SERVE YOURSELF. Find what makes you feel relaxed & special and make it a weekly priority!

Big Hugs,

Gem xo
