LA Eats

y mom, my best friend & the California sun. In other words, the perfect ladies trip!

Perhaps one of my favourite weeks of last year was a very special girls trip to LA & Palm Springs. While we had every intention of working out in the mornings & doing sunset yoga in the evenings, that wasn’t the case. (I actually booked an airbnb specifically because of the gym facilities…who does that?!) We instead spent our mornings eating at authentic french cafe’s and our evenings ordering seconds of the most incredible tuna tartare known to mankind (no joke!). While I’m certainly not a chef (though I make a mean toastie), however between the three of us ladies, we found some seriously delicious spots scattered around LA.

Below are a few of my favourite spots! Enjoy xo

The early bird catches worm, however the ladies
who sleep in get to indulge in French Pastries. It is safe too say the ladies won.

Delightful Breakfast Spots

Amazebowls, Arts District, LA

Since seeing a photo of their Coconut Acai bowl featured in the LA magazine, I’ve been so keen to check out Amazebowls. We decided to go for a stroll there one sunny morning, which turned into a 90 walk across LA & through the art district. It’s not the cheapest of breakie options, but well worth trying!

Le Pain Quotidien, Downtown LA

J (my bestie) organized this spot for our last breakfast together. We both have a slight obsession with all things French and this was such a cute find amongst the skyscrapers of LA! I ordered ricotta, prosciutto & honey on rye bread…it was insane. The food was so yummy, we ended up buying a bag of fresh pastries for the walk home. And since we walked home, we didn’t feel guilty about the second round of food. #sorrynotsorry

The Butchers Daughter, Venice

This HAS to be on your list of places to visit.

The interior design is reason enough to go, let alone the vegan sausage, fennel pizza & huge selection of fresh juices. They have really nailed it with the service as well, we were SO well looked after even though it was packed. I can’t talk about this place enough, its perfect for any one with allergies as well since most items are gluten free & its all plant based! My mom killed it with this reservation!

Good Girl Dinette, Highland Park

While strolling through Pasadena, we came across a quaint Vietnamese restaurant. After a morning of shopping for my other half, summer rolls & pho sounded like a dream. This spot was also super affordable, healthy & fresh!

Leona, Venice

My lovely friend Melissa took me to this spot before we both flew out of LA. We opted for brunch instead of lunch, ordering burritos larger than our heads with a side platter of bacon. Oh and did I mention mimosas? Right between the canals & ocean, it’s in a prime location for watching the world go by while sipping on bubbles.

Can I just have one of everything?! ~ Dinner

Pump, West Hollywood

J preplanned the most amazing night to celebrate my 24th birthday. After a blow dry & makeover we took an uber to Pump. You sit amongst trees, fountains & fairy lights while the waiters (in pink bow ties) supply incredible service. The tuna tartare is the best I’ve ever had (we ordered a second plate) and finished off the meal with to-die-for espresso martinis.
I’m still daydreaming about this glam spot.

Tocaya Organica, West Hollywood

Tacos & tequila. Need I say more? Super casual vibe with a take away order system and booth seating. The tacos reminded me of our first girls trip to Cancun & the cocktails were a little too good. After a few fancier meals, it was absolutely lovely to arrive in nikes & a pull over, eat tacos & talk nonsense with my best friend.

Have another favourite restaurant we should check out on our next trip to LA? Let me know in the comments below! xo
